3 Bedroom Cabin in Orby, Örby

A genuine Swedish old-style forest cottage from 1879 (a typical Swedish torp), with seven beds on two floors (three bedrooms). The total living area is about 100 square metres. The house has been preserved and restored in old-fashioned style. It is located on a very sunny hill in the forest, with open spaces 50 metres in all directions, 600 metres to the nearest neighbor and 100% transparency protected.
Here you will not be disturbed by anyone, nature is at your doorstep and with endless walking trails through the forests. There are several forest lakes within walking distance from the house. Most of them are great for swimming, also for small children.
In the spring there are wild daffodils blooming everywhere on the slopes. From May to September you will have full sun 15 hours per day on sunny days. In the autumn there are chanterelles on the driveway and blueberries near the house. The winters can be white from November to March, but also green with only short periods with snow. The area is 175 m above sea level which means that it's normally a couple of degrees colder than in Kinna/Skene, cold enough to make the snow stay a bit longer.
If you like fishing you can buy a fishing card (fiskekort) which allows you to go fishing at some lakes in the area, for example Stora Galtasjön which is one of the closest lakes. This lake is also very beautiful and is great for swimming. Despite all this you will most often be alone here.
Please, note that Torpet Nyhem now has an ordinary water closet. Until December 2019 there was only a compost toilet which caused some negative reviews from guests because of the odours that sometimes came from it. The house now also has a fully equipped kitchen with a refrigerator and a stove with an oven.
There is a lot more to say about this house and environment. We love it ourselves and we spend as much time we can here between the bookings.
Although there are photos of lakes attached to the description there is no lake next to the house. The closest lake is 400 m from the house but not good for swimming, The closest lake for swimming is 1,5 km from the house through the forest or 5 mins by car. It's truly beautiful, typical Swedish lake where you can expect to be alone also on sunny summer days: Stora Galtasjön.
There are several other lakes in the area - all very beautiful and mostly isolated.
If you need a washing machine I have another property 8 mins from this house where you can go to wash your clothes. It's next to a fantastic lake and you can stay there the lake while you are waiting for the machine to do its job. If I am there I will probably offer a free cup of tea with a snack.

Summary: We spent two weeks in the house. The garden is beautiful, full of butterflies, bees, lizards and even snakes. We really enjoyed it. We would have liked a bit more comfort in the house, especially in the bathroom. It wasn't really possible to shower unless you wanted to flush the whole bath, and we were a bit disappointed that the house wasn't as clean as we expected. Overall we had a good stay, thanks Paul for having us.

Summary: Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay at Torpet Nyhem. We particularly liked the secluded quiet location in an area with numerous lakes, untouched nature and many hiking trails. The communication with the owner was perfect: very fast response time, very welcoming and always nice and courteous. The house has fast internet connection and the kitchen is well equipped. There is plenty of info material for different places of interest. We would recommend this location to people who seek quietness, who love nature and outdoor activities.

Summary: We had a wonderful holiday in the Swedish woods in Torpet Nyhem. Highlights include the alcove beds which were loved especially by all children, the fireplace and bathtub. A really cosy place for a holiday. Paul and Lena were super friendly and helpful hosts. We would love to come back 😊

Summary: Torpet Nyhem it's an unique, and cozy pearl, hidden in the woods in Swedish wilderness. The house is 230 years old, but the standard is very decent. It's very clean and well kept, inside and outside. It's full of charming, unique antiques and it's also fully equipped. The surroundings are stunning. Perfect for hiking or ski touring. The owners are very sweet and helpful. It was a real pleasure talking to them and learning more interesting facts about the House and surroundings. We had a fantastic and relaxing 4 days out there, and it wasn't the last time :)

Summary: We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful house. The house has everything you need and the kids loved their bedroom! The woods and lakes around the house are just beautiful. We loved it! (Also the communication with Paul went verry good!)

Summary: We spent there some days after new years eve and hoped to start the year in a relaxing way. The house looked cozy in the pictures and it definitly was. The livng room is nicely furnished, the fire place is a big highlight. The house was even decorated according to the christmas season. Also the location of the building on this little clearing is very nice. We were lucky and had clear skies so we could enjoy a first class view of the milky way at nights. The communication with Paul was easy, fast and very friendly. Only one minor downside: the area around the house looked a little scruffy as some junk parts were just laying around. Nonetheless, our expectation were absolutely met and we would definitely recommend Paul´s place. Thank you for having us :)

Summary: Beautiful, rustic cabin with all of the necessities for a comfortable stay. Paul was very responsive and everything was in perfect order. The scenery surrounding this cabin is breathtaking...we walked for several hours and enjoyed the natural setting! Would definitely rent again...
